Founder Ryan Alter has a long history in the fields of computer technology and environmental science, and began developing remote wildlife-viewing systems out of his personal passion for wildlife conservation and education. After achieving a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Youngstown State University, Ryan joined the University of Montana biology department and eventually served as UM’s Director of Academic Information Technology.

While Ryan specializes in the technological aspects of Alter Enterprise, he works with a team of expert partners—including biologists, foresters, botanists and ecologists—to create wildlife-viewing systems that are custom-designed to suit a wide range of wildlife habitats and landowner goals.
